Fractions, Percentages and Decimals

The Story Behind My Mathematical Games

A long time ago I wrote a couple of Flash interactivities to help people learn about fractions, percentages and decimals. They became very popular, so I wrote a few more.

Which Math Games are Online?

  1. Sectors - what fraction of a circle has been shaded? Answer in lowest terms!
  2. Shade Shade in the correct number of regions to equal the fraction given.
  3. Fraction Switch Put the sequence of fractions into ascending order by switching them round.
  4. Up to One Find the third fraction which when added to the two shown, will bring their total to one whole.
  5. Equivalent Fractions Enter the correct numbers into the boxes to make a series of equivalent fractions.
  6. Percentage estimation - try to estimate what percentage of the bar has been shaded. Score 3 marks for being spot on. 2 for a very close answer, 1 for a fairly close answer.
  7. Pie Test Estimate the size of the sector of the pie chart which has been shaded yellow..
  8. Scales Move the pointer to match the decimal number given to you.
  9. Switch Put the sequence of decimal numbers into ascending order by switching them round.
  10. Sock Push the green blocks into the holes to make the target number.

This is only a small selection of my work.
